Resistive training and chromium picolinate: Effects on inositols and liver and kidney functions in older adults

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted on 32 nondiabetic subject to assess the effects of resistive training (RT) with or without chromium picolinate(Cr-pic) supplementation on the 24-h urinary excretions of myo-inositol, D-chiro-inositol, and pinitol as well as clinical indices of kidney and liver functions. The results show that RT did not influence the urinary excretions of inositols and selected indices of kidney and liver functions in conjunction with RT.

Effect of elk velvet antler supplementation on the hormonal response to acute and chronic exercise in male and female rowers

Article Abstract:

Male and female rowers were given elk velvet antler supplementation (EVA) while training to investigate the effects on hormonal reactions at rest and after strenuous exercise. Observations reveal that there is no notable improvement in rowing activity or change in hormonal reactions while resting or after strenuous exercise following ingestion of EVA.

Food for trans-Atlantic rowers: a menu planning model and case study

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to summarize the rowers' food experiences and to provide guidance for sports nutrition professionals who work with ultra-endurance athletes embarking on a physical challenge with similar food requirements. This learning provided food and nutrition recommendations as well as practical considerations for ultra-distance athletes.
