Resting heart rate definition and its effect on apparent levels of physical activity in young children

Article Abstract:

Results show that assessment of the apparent level of physical activity in children based on resting heart rate (RHR) depends on how RHR is defined and what protocol used for its measurement as indicated by statistically significant differences in RHR data.

Fundamental movement skills and habitual physical activity in young children

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to test the relationships between objectively measured habitual physical activity and fundamental movement skills in a relatively large and representative sample of preschool children. Results revealed that measures of habitual physical activity and movement skills were significantly related, but the relationships observed were generally weak, and largely with moderate to vigorous physical activity.
