Many top professional golfers use an open rather than a square stance. Pulling the left foot back slightly and opening it about 20 to 25 degrees offers a better view of the target and a faster clearing of the hips.

I have always been an advocate [for myself] of setting up with a bit of an open stance clearing the way for the club head to come into the ball

Heel in the sand

Golfers who want to improve sand shots should drop the hands at address. This action relaxes the wrist and allows the heel of the club to lead the shot into the sand.
