Stream Watch: The dilemma of the upper Delaware

Article Abstract:

The controversy of the overall release rate and the way the releases should be distributed from the upper Delaware is discussed. The Delaware Rainmaster currently maintains a minimum flow of 1,750 cubic feet per second (cfs) at Montague, New Jersey, through a combination of natural flows, hydropower releases from Lake Wallenpaupack in Pennsylvania, the Mongaup reservoir system in New York, and releases from the Cannonsville, Pepacton, and Neversink reservoirs.
