Suatting exercises in older adults: kinematic and kinetic comparisons

Article Abstract:

Research evaluates the type of squatting activity that influence physical function in older adults. Results indicate that chair squat stresses the hip extensors, while normal squat stresses the kneee xtensors and ankle plantar flexors.

Knee strength and lower- and higher-intensity functinal performance in older adults

Some exercises that increase work capacity and knee strength may improve other capabilities in older adults. These capabilities include chair standing, brisk walking, and stair climbing.
