Terror and rebuilding: a PT perspective

Article Abstract:

The experiences of physical therapists (PTs) in New York, NY, and Wash DC on Sep 11, 2001, during the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, are described. Topics include the experiences of physical therapists working in lower Manhattan and Wash DC, a PT patient who was on the plane, and the physical therapy needs of firefighters and police officers involved in rescue efforts.

Computerized prosthetics

Article Abstract:

This article examines the use of computerized prosthetic legs that use hydraulic knees that swing and move under the control of a microprocessor. Several amputee patients relate their successes using this new medical technology.
