Medicare physician fee schedule for 2000

The physicians fees schedule for Medicare providers allows for the same fees for physical therapists in institutional or private practice settings. The formula for calculating allowable fees is analyzed.

The Medicare outpatient hospital prospective payment system final rule

Article Abstract:

This article examines the US Health Care Financing Administration's (HCFA) 2000 rule concerning prospective payment systems for Medicare-supported hospital outpatient services, clarifying that occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and physical therapy are not included in the system. The requirements a health services organization must meet to be considered a 'provider-based entity' or a 'department of a provider' by the HCFA are also discussed.

The inpatient rehabilitation facility prospective payment system final rule
