The clinical effects of cold application on the production of electrically induced involuntary muscle contractions

Article Abstract:

A study conducted to determine the effect of a 20-min ice treatment on pain tolerance and peak torque is discussed. The conclusion states that cryotherapy enables patients to tolerate greater output intensities but does not result in increased peak torque.

Recovery of contractile properties of the knee-extensor muscles after arthroscopic partial meniscectomy

Article Abstract:

Recovery for knee-extensor-muscle voluntary strength is slower to recover than evoked tetanic-contractile characteristics following partial meniscectomy. The traditional rehabilitation protocol appears to be insufficient for this purpose.
