The effect of extrinsic motivation on cycle time trial performance

Article Abstract:

Various factors related to the power output from aerobic and nonaerobic metabolic sources are measured to examine the effects of extrinsic motivation on time trial performance of the cyclists, which makes them more aggressive. The results of the study prove that the great early power output due to the anaerobic metabolic sources and not the extrinsic motivation is the true reason behind the change in the time trial performance of the cyclists.

Local vascular adaptations after hybrid training in spinal cod-injured subjects

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to assess the effects of 4 wk of voluntary arm and electrically stimulated leg exercise on vascular adaptations in active areas and inactive areas. It is concluded that the presence of vascular adaptations after only 4 wk of functional electrical stimulation cycling indicates that adaptations occur in an early phase.

Influence of crank rate in hand cycling

Article Abstract:

Gross mechanical efficiency (ME) at different power output (PO) levels of synchronous hand cycling is presented. The influence of increasing PO by changing crank rate or resistance in wheelchair users with experience in hand cycling is also evaluated.
