The effects of zinc depletion on peak force and total work of knee and shoulder extensor and flexor muscles

Article Abstract:

Effects of zinc depletion on total work and peak force of shoulder and knee flexor and extensor muscles in humans have been studied and it was found that peak force was not affected, but that total work for all but knee flexor muscles declined significantly. Data indicate that acute zinc depletion changes total work capacity of skeletal muscle.
