Training and overtraining markers in selected sport events

Article Abstract:

Results show that serum urea and serum creatine kinase parameters are useful markers to assess training and overtraining symptoms in athletes. The study indicates that overtraining symptoms are the result of a disparity between amount of exercise and exercise tolerance level.

Head size and motor performance in children born prematurely

Article Abstract:

Research points out that prematurely born children with small head circumference exhibit impaired neural control of intra- and intermuscular coordination resulting in their displaying higher oxygen cost of cycling in high velocity exercise tasks.

Cytokine hypothesis of overtraining: a physiological adaptation to excessive stress?

Article Abstract:

This review presents a theoretical analysis of the overtraining syndrome (OTS) which is referred to as the cytokine hypothesis of overtraining. it is suggested that OTS is Selye's third stage of general adaptation syndrome.
