Validation of a new method for estimating Vo (sub 2max) based on VO (sub 2) reserve

Article Abstract:

A new method that uses a final 6-min stage and that estimates VO (sub 2max) form the relationship between heart rate reserve and VO(sub 2) reserve is studied. The results indicate that the new method for estimating VO(sub 2max) from sub maximal cycling based on VO(sub 2) reserve is found to be valid and more accurate method.

Blood pressure responses to acute static and dynamic exercise in three racial groups

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that African Americans who are normotensive when at rest do not have a greater blood pressure response to static or dynamic exercise than Asian Americans or Caucasian Americans. Results are based on a study of 90 people distributed evenly throughout each racial group.
