What is modeled during observational learning?

Article Abstract:

A variety of methods, theories, and empirical data are evaluated with a view to find out the information processed during observational learning. It is seen that observational learning is governed by specific features of the model's action, the task, and more global aspects of a model that are not important for constraining action execution.

From visuo-motor interactions to imitation learning: Behavioral and brain imaging studies

Article Abstract:

Three broad areas of research namely behavioral studies of observational learning, behavioral research on short-term visuo-motor interactions and neurophysiological and neuroimaging work are discussed. Studies on mirror neuro system show that action observation uses the observer's own motor prototype of the observed action.

The impact of the self-as-a-model interventions on children's self-regulation of learning and swimming performance

Article Abstract:

The effect of modeling interventions on three self-regulatory processes namely self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation and self-satisfaction and physical performance is discussed. It was seen that the self-modeling group performed better as compared with the self-observation and control groups in post hoc tests.
