Political therapy: make your voice heard

Article Abstract:

This article examines the work of physical therapists and the American Physical Therapy Association to influence state and federal health care policy. Physical therapists in the political arena stress the importance of grassroots lobbying efforts for the profession.

The American Physical Therapy Association encourages physical therapists to contribute to political causes that impact the profession. Action that physical therapists can take include voting, volunteering in elections, grassroots campaigning, and becoming better informed about pending legislation that concerns physical therapy.
