Australian industries raise their profile

Article Abstract:

Australian companies are aiming for a larger slice of the international shipbuilding market. Their confidence stems largely from the industry's rapid growth at home, particularly the fast ferry sector, which is seeing a significant surge in orders from clients in the Far East and the West. Shipbuilders expect to experience further growth in the near future, in view of the advent of the Exclusive Economic Zone and the construction of the Australian Hydrodynamics Facility.
