Automatic production

Article Abstract:

ABB Turbo Systems has invested some $36 mil on improving its facilities in a move to increase market volume for diesel engines having an output of 500kW or more. The company has placed its production of large turbo-charger casings in one modern hall called Jumbo, where all turbo-charger casings are assembled and machined. The move is believed to help the company enhance its handling, logistics and communications. Also, ABB has created a test facility called Charles, where a series of qualification programs are used to guarantee that its turbo-chargers meet standards. ABB's latest turbo-chargers, TPL and TPS, were launched in 1997.
