India poised for expansion

Article Abstract:

India's ship repair industry faces bright prospects as demand from its national fleet outruns dock supply. Indian shipyards offer competitively priced skilled labor and competent services such as general repairs, blasting and painting services. However, delays in work completion force ship owners to dock overseas. The government-owned Cochin Shipyard, the nation's largest, handles about 37 ships annually.
