High aspirations: Izar has grand plans to enhance its position in the global shipbuilding league

Spanish shipbuilder Izar Construcciones Navales plans investment of around $620 million and has a five-year product technological development budget of $280 million. It aims to become one of the leading European shipbuilders, and possibly also establish a strong global presence.

Izar Gizon delivers Chilean chemical carrier

Article Abstract:

Izar Shipyard, in Gizon, built a chemical carrier Guanaco and delivered it to the Chilean ship owner Ultragas. Guanaco is 161.23m long double hulled vessel fitted with 28 duplex stainless steel tanks and has a flexible design, which helps in carrying cargoes at different temperatures.

Pasha Hawaii Transport Lines (PHTL) is building Jean Anne, the first pure car truck carrier (PCTC) in the U.S.A., and the construction will be over in November 2004. Jean Anne is a 37200g vessel designed to transport cars and trucks and trailers and containers of various sizes.
