Retrofit or renovation improves performance

Article Abstract:

ABB Turbo Systems AG offers shipowners a specialized turbo-charger retrofit service. The company employs 12-man specialist teams to determine the proper approach to retrofitting marine engines with turbochargers. The teams also conduct turbocharger repair and modification services. The teams look into the possible causes of poor fuel consumption and low power output as part of the services. A discussion of some of the major causes of poor power output and fuel consumption is presented.

The system ensures that parts are ready for users so that engine down-time is reduced to a minimum.
