Safety, health and environment in small process plants: results from a European survey

Article Abstract:

This study analyzes results from a European survey on safety, health, and environmental issues in small chemical plants. Findings suggest that the frequency of accidents involving hazardous materials is not related to company size and that small companies have a positive attitude towards safety management.

The authors evaluate the results of a study of how risk control is perceived in small Australian construction firms with respect to long-term and acute health and safety risks. The meaning of risk control for occupational skin disease and falls from heights were studied.
