Single-hull oil tankers banned from EU ports

Article Abstract:

The regulation that bans single-hull oil tankers from European ports was enforced from 21 October 2003. As per the regulation, single hull-tankers may not be used to carry heavy grades of oil to and from the European ports, and any tanker which is more than 23 years old are banned from European port and tankers that are more than 15 years old will undergo exhaustive technical inspection.

Turks order innovative generation tankers

Article Abstract:

The double hull structure, clean sea notation, redundancy, ballast tank cleaning system are the features of next generation tankers ordered by the Turkish shipowners. The vessel uses azimuth propulsion for its main propulsion, and the vessel's fine hull provides minimum resistance both from hydrodynamic as well as aerodynamic perspective.

Second generation Lindenau tankers

Lindenau Shipyard launched the third of 3 sister tankers ordered by German Tanker Shipping. These ships mark the 1st newbuilds of Lindenau's 2nd generation of tankers with double-skinned hulls.
