Smoothing out the ride

Article Abstract:

Maritime Dynamics Inc (MDI) ride control system for fast ferries can be used in all types of ferry designs that perform in rough waters. The system makes MDI an exclusive on the supplier's list in the whole industry. It is composed of an electronic unit that operates at off input voltages of 18 to 36V DC, control unit and system display, motion sensor package, T-foil control panel and a trim tab control panel. The system is microprocessor-based that controls an hydraulically actuated T-foil. MDI's ride control system ensures passenger comfort in all kinds of motion characteristics.

Research refines lub oil performance

Article Abstract:

Mobil Oil Francaise has been conducting research on diesel cylinder oils and systems lubricants to determine the optimal formulation for extended engine operation. Tests have shown that Mobilgard 570 outperformed competing products in many respects and was equal in others. The addition of experimental additives to Mobilgard 570 substantially improved its performance.
