Sweden's marine equipment industry has been able to capture a substantial portion of the international market despite its relatively small size. Major Swedish equipment manufacturers such as Kockum Sonics AB, Kockum Computer Systems AB and Saab Marine Electronics AB attribute their success to their commitment to constant modernization and product enhancement. Such a product development philosophy has helped them attract a constant stream of new contracts.

Cooling systems for marine engines that feature payback times of one year or less should be considered as a valuable equipment for shipowners. There are several efficient cooling systems that feature innovative technologies and the Engard system is considered to be one of them. The system features lower operating costs and the savings will offset installation costs within one year of use.
