Article Abstract:

Scotch whiskey is becoming an increasingly popular alcoholic beverage in Canadian bars and restaurants due to a number of factors. These include the extensive marketing efforts by the Edinburgh, Scotland-based Scotch Whiskey Assn, the emergence of a new demographic group of scotch drinkers who are more discerning in their choices of spirits and wine, and timing. Spirit Canada has employed a strategy to ensure that if customers are going to imbibe less alcoholic beverages to avoid excessive drinking, it will convince them to buy higher-end products, such as scotch.

It doesn't get any cooler than this

Article Abstract:

Smoothies are expected to reinvigorate Canada's consumption of frozen yogurt. The product is seen to have a four-factor appeal to consumers since it is generally a health food with dairy and fruit ingredients; it is sold as an alternative to regular meals; there is an increase in beverage sales in frozen dessert outlets; and there is a value-added appeal when it is prepared in front of the customer. The sale of the product from food firms promoting their own versions is expected to be brisk this summer of 1998.

Blenz Coffee has also been helped by the growth in the gourmet coffee section.
