Article Abstract:

Politicians from all parties gave their views on the future of tourism in Scotland at a conference organised by The Scottish Division of the British Hospitality Association (BHA). All the politicians supported BHA views that a national tourism policy should be an important focus in the economic development strategy of the new Scottish parliament. They disagreed, however, on the means of developing the tourist industry. Scottish National Party Leader Alex Salmond, for example, was alone in thinking that the Scottish Tourist Board should become part of a broader enterprise network.
