Heron Cities

Article Abstract:

Heron International's acquisitions director Peter Ferrari is heading the unveiling of its leisure and retail concept Heron City. Schemes are due to open in Spain, France and Sweden by 2000, with a further six European sites planned. Heron City is designed to blend leisure, retail and entertainment into one building, typically between 250,000 and 450,000 sq ft and costing some 50 million pounds sterling.

Volkswagen Groups AUTOSTADT theme park is due to open in Wolfsburg, Germany, in June 2000. The attraction will combine new media technology, computer-generated imagery and museum-type displays to entertain visitors with an interest in machinery and gadgetry. The park's main theme is the story of how cars have influenced our lives over the years and the emphasis is on providing fun for the whole family.
