The tourism industry needs investments to prosper as it thrives on economic prosperity and when there are no threat from terrorists or war activity. The success of 2002 Million-Visitor Campaign reiterates that good results can be achieved if there is proper investment and the government needs to recognize this in its investment towards the VisitBritain campaign.

A statutory registration is believed to be the answer to the problem of low quality but high priced accommodation but such a system cannot solve issues of quality. Voluntary registration is the most effective way to raise the standard of accommodation and service.
