Moore controversy

Article Abstract:

Mary Moore has opposed the Henry Moore Foundations proposals to develop a visitor centre on the 70 acre site of her father's former home in Perry Green, Hertfordshire, England. Foundation head, Alan Bowness claims existing facilities are inadequate to store and display the collection effectively. The four million pound sterling development includes a reception ares, study areas, gallery and viewing tower. Associated facilities would also be necsssary. However, Mary Moore maintains creating a large-scale leisure facility would be inappropriate and contrary to Henry Moore's wishes.
