On the move

Article Abstract:

Latest simulation attractions for the leisure industry are of a very high quality. There is a clear shift towards interactivity, and ride film visuals are very impressive. However, suppliers are still facing difficulties, particularly in the light of the financial instability in Asia. Currency devaluations in Asia may mean that Asian simulation attraction manufacturers are in a stronger position to export their products and services at attractive prices. Companies exhibiting at the IAAPA show in Orlando, FL, at the end of Nov 1997 included Camber Entertainment, Dynamax and Thomson Entertainment.

Move it

Article Abstract:

Leisure operators in the UK are starting to assess the potential of simulation attractions, and manufacturers are responding with a growing range of equipment. It is now possible to choose simulators which are closely aligned with the requirements of a particular leisure facility. There is also considerable potential for the use of simulation attractions in museums and science centres.
