Open to discussion

Article Abstract:

A debate to be held in April 1995 and organised by the UK's Tourism Society and Tourism Concern will discuss whether the tourist industry can protect the environment through self-regulation. Tourism is a worldwide industry, but its effects on communities and the local environment in visited areas have been profound and the industry could destroy the valuable assets on which it depends. The two main organisations working towards sustainable tourism are Tourism Concern and the World Travel and Tourism Council's Environment Research Centre (WTTERC).

Sunny Crouch

Article Abstract:

Sunny Crouch, marketing and public affairs director of London Docklands, is extremely enthusiastic about her job, even though the redevelopment of Docklands has been widely criticised. She has a strong commercial and academic background, and has developed talents both as a visionary and a pragmatist. She has found marketing extremely challenging in a period of recession, and is now working on promoting the Docklands as a location for living, working and leisure activities.

The whole of the building's interior has been redesigned, and extra space has now been gained.
