K-Bar outlets generally attract customers aged between 21 and 40, although there is variation between individual outlets according to their location, according to Piers Adam, founder of the K-Bar brand. The brand aims to provide good music, drinks that are not too expensive, a fun atmosphere and a high standard of service. Adam now wants to focus on creativity, and for this reason is appointing a managing director. He aims to open a further two K-Bar outlets in 1999, and also plans to reposition the Kartouche brasserie in Chelsea, London, England.

Dave Harris, director of UCI Cinemas in the United Kingdom, boasts the greatest number of multiplex screens in the country and looks forward to a successful future with the company's current management strategy. The company plans to set up different sized operations according to specific needs, and although the large nine to 12 screen cinema will still be featured in locations outside towns, smaller complexes with different facility mixes will be used where suitable.

The argument on whether the leisure should become a statutory public service or not is discussed. A public leisure service is too important to individuals, communities and societies and is receiving the funding it deserves.
