Pure genius: Guinness is using a travelling attractionto encourage new drinkers

Article Abstract:

Guinness has spent 300,000 pounds sterling on a hi-tech roadshow called The Guinness Taste Sensation, to promote the drink. The roadshow base is on Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and it will visit county shows during the next three years. The roadshow was created by Anthony Daniels and has a theatrical theme. At one point a cool breeze is blown over the faces of visitors smelling of malt and hops, and another part of the roadshow screens an impressionof Guinness being poured into a glass.

In 1990 the Oratory School, Reading, England incorporated a court into it's sports facilities and the Harbour Club development, Chelsea, London, England opening in January 1993 also includes a court. Registered players have increased from 800 in the 1980s to 2,100 in 1992. The development of further facilities would change the sport's exclusive image.
