Renowned hotelier Rocco Forte launched his new hotel group RF Hotels in 1997. The group, in early 1999, comprises eight hotels and hotel projects in Italy, Russia and the UK. The first of these hotels to be newly-built was the five-star St David's Hotel within the Cardiff Bay regeneration project in Wales. This 148-room hotel, which incorporates a major health spa facility, has achieved international acclaim. Forte is searching for more sites to build luxury hotels in European cities. Forte believes strongly in service and insists on a staffing level of one employee to every guest.
