Article Abstract:

Case studies of UK sports facilities which use artificial grass are examined. Bernhard's Sport Surfaces, UK, formed in 1983 for the development of synthetic surfaces for sport, supplied Superfoot synthetic grass, produced by Cabrita Carpets, Belgium, to Aston Villa Football club, UK, for its training pitch. Omnisport supplied Omnicourt-Pro carpet for the tennis courts at Exeter Golf and Country Club. Mastersport Surfaces supplied Astroturf, a synthetic surface for the driving range of Pro Range Golf, East Kilbride, Glasgow, UK. En-tout-cas is installing Decoturf surface for thirteen tennis courts at the Wirral ITI tennis centre. Her Majesty's Prison Service is using Enkalex Underlay 10 as a shockpad for all its artificial grass pitches.
