Tourism market potential analysis in Botswana: A Delphi study

Article Abstract:

The results of a modified Delphi study used to generate forecasts from tourism industry experts on the most probable scenario for the tourism and hospitality industry in Botswana by the year 2020 are reported. They imply that efforts aimed at increasing tourism might be more effective if focused on changing structures and hosting events, rather than changing the values of the people.

Resident perceptions of tourist attractions on the Gold Coast of Australia

Article Abstract:

Personal construct theory was used to identify resident perceptions of 12 elicited tourist attractions on the Gold Coast of Australia. The finding that tourist attractions positively influence residents' quality of life despite the assessment of built attractions as commercialized, touristy, expensive and noisy may owe to the status of the Gold Coast as a tourism city.

Preference and positioning analyses of overseas destinations by Mainland Chinese outbound pleasure tourists

Article Abstract:

The competitiveness of overseas destination countries where potential Mainland Chinese outbound tourists consider making an overseas travel and the positioning of these destination countries is explored. The results demonstrate competitiveness of destination countries and suggest strategies for destination markets to attract more Mainland Chinese tourists.
