3-D graphs and more

Article Abstract:

Jandel Scientific's $495 SigmaPlot 5.0 computer graphics software is a very good program that integrates a three-dimensional (3-D) graphing package into the company's superb two-dimensional (2-D) system. SigmaPlot 5.0 is very easy to install, and its tutorial is informative and easy to follow. The program's real strength, however, is its blend of ease of use and total control. With SigmaPlot, a plot with convenient defaults is produced which can then be easily modified. SigmaPlot also features a useful Math submenu, with which users can create or manipulate data with built-in or user-supplied functions; sophisticated nonlinear least-squares curve fitting can also be performed. SigmaPlot's only negative feature is that it is slow because of all the overlays it uses. Other than that, SigmaPlot 5.0 is a wonderful package.
