A Nationwide Assessment of the Biodiversity Value of Uganda's Important Bird Areas Network

Article Abstract:

Application of the Important Bird Areas (IBA) program to Ugandan sites is evaluated. Findings show that the IBA program is efficient with regard to number of sites necessary to adequately represent species, but not efficient with regard to total area. This may be due to the utilization of selection factors other than area.

Evaluating the Conservation Mission of Zoos, Aquariums, Botanical Gardens, and Natural History Museums
