A game of subversion

Article Abstract:

The generation of cancer stem cells by a leukemia-associated protein that has found a way to trick non-stem cells into acquiring stem-cell-like behavior and supporting tumor formation is reported. Cancer genes through appropriating mechanisms that are essential to the functions they want to gain provide the opportunity to identify molecular targets that could be used for cancer treatment by using appropriate mechanisms.

Stem cells, ageing and the quest for immortality

Article Abstract:

The intersection between the biology of ageing and the biology of adult stem cells, in particular mammalian tissue biology, functional changes with age in those tissue that or do not to relate stem cells, and the relationship between tissue ageing and longevity is studied. The potential for stem cells to be used as therapeutic vehicles has a profound effect on the vision of the future regenerative medicine.
