A literature of redemption

Article Abstract:

Literature makes it possible for those treated unjustly to tell their stories and say what must be heard. To solve the world's problems, it is necessary to think beyond self-interest and to have a very high level of empathy for those in other groups. Moral imagination and seeing one's own culpability are required. Conservation biology is a science that serves not just human interests, but should enhance and preserve all life.
