A sea change

Article Abstract:

Shifts in the thermohaline circulation due to global warming could bring about a catastrophic collapse in ocean currents that would drastically lower the temperature around the North Atlantic. It will take a while to predict the probable effects of a thermohaline circulation slowdown, which affects temperatures because of the intricate ocean current systems.

Climate findings let fishermen off the hook

Article Abstract:

Overfishing and environmental trends are the main reasons for declining fish stocks in the North Atlantic Ocean. Determining how much of changing mortality patterns is due to fishing operations and how much due to environmental trends, is essential inorder to develop a sustainable fisheries policy.

Ocean circulation noisy, not stalling

Article Abstract:

The suggestion of the substantial decline in the Atlantic Ocean circulation seems to be largely unfounded. The present available data provides no statistically significant evidence for a change of the overturning circulation from 1950s.
