A second generation human haplotype map of over 3.1 million SNPs

Article Abstract:

The phase II HapMap which characterized over 3.1 million human single nucleotide polymorphism (SNPs) genotyped in 270 individuals from geographically diverse populations is presented. The studies provide insight into the fine-scale structure of linkage disequilibrium, recombination and natural selection between populations.

Mapping determinants of human gene expression by regional and genome-wide association

Article Abstract:

The genome-wide association analysis yielded highly significant results that point to the same locations as the genome scans for about 50% of the phenotypes. The findings suggested that association studies with dense SNP maps would identify susceptibility loci or other determinants for some complex traits or diseases.

On the trail of SNPs

Article Abstract:

One of the first approaches to extracting medical and biological value from the human genome includes the study and exploitation of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). The early steps towards personal genotyping, as well as, the different genotyping options are discussed.
