Astronomers silenced in star-name wars

An astronomer has been silenced by his employer following his criticism of a company which sells the right of naming a star to individuals. The company, International Star Registry, was threatening the employer with a lawsuit.

Search for alien life reasserts its credibility

Article Abstract:

Issues are presented concerning the credibility which the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence programme is gaining with law-makers in Washington. The federal and private funding of the programme is discussed.
