Asymmetric synthesis by enantiomer-selective activation of racemic catalysts

Article Abstract:

Racemic catalysts tend to produce only a racemic mixture of chiral products. However, there is an alternative strategy to asymmetric catalysis in which a chiral activator selectively activates one enantiomer of a racemic chiral catalyst. The catalyst used is a titanium complex. This asymmetric activation strategy offers an effective approach for racemic catalysts used in catalytic asymmetric processes.
