Finland the Nordic country is the second highest per capita commitment to research of the 30 countries in the organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. The private sector, for emphasis on applied research and government supported venture capital has already created and if not another Nokia, a few mid-sized life sciences companies.

Article Abstract:

The UK government tries to start public debate across the country on whether to allow commercial planting of genetically modified crops. The negative media coverage may make British people to believe that the government is not interested in their views, and that it has already made up its mind on transgenic agriculture.
