Cks1-dependent proteasome recruitment and activation of CDC20 transcription in budding yeast

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Cks1 protein which interacts with cyclin-dependent kinases. The authors have investigated the role of this protein in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and have demonstrated that Cks1 is involved in mitosis promotion via transcription activation modulation of the protein-ubiquitin ligase activator.

Crystal structure of a self-splicing group I intron with both exons

Article Abstract:

The X-ray crystal structure (3.1angstrom resolution) of the group I self-splicing intron in complex with both the 5' - and the 3'- exons is presented. Results reveal that this structure demonstrates the first splicing complex to include a complete intron, both exons and an organized active site occupied with metal ions.

Crystal structure of a transcription factor IIIB core interface ternary complex

Article Abstract:

The article reports on the crystal structure of a transcription factor IIIB core interface ternary complex, demonstrating how it achieves substantial binding specificity with the surfaces of TATA-binding protein. Numerous supporting illustrations and graphs are provided.
