Combining breeding bird survey and Christmas Bird Count data to evaluate seasonal components of population change in northern bobwhite

Article Abstract:

A hierarchical model is used for simultaneous analysis of two continent-scale monitoring programs used for estimating the seasonal components of population change in northern bobwhites. The results have shown that northern bobwhite populations have changed more in the winter and spring portion of the year than in the summer and fall portion of the year.

Use of North American Breeding Bird Survey data to estimate population change for bird conservation regions

Article Abstract:

Data from the North American Breeding Bird Survey are used to develop Bird Conservation Regions, focusing on population changes. Regions were found to offer usable strata for Survey data summary. Findings include consistent declines for grassland breeding birds.
