Comparative habitat ecology of Texas and masked bobwhites

Article Abstract:

A field study has been undertaken to establish the habitat ecology of masked bobwhites. The findings were compared with Texas bobwhites. Masked bobwhites may prefer areas with lower canopy coverage of wood vegetation compared with Texas bobwhites.

Comparative habitat use by three quails in desert grassland

Article Abstract:

Research shows that different uses of habitat may produce common outcomes in risk avoidance in Arizona scaled quail, Gambel's quail and masked bobwhites. Instead of producing interference competition, bird-environment interaction encourages complementary behaviors, so all three bird species avoid risks such as predator exposure and hyperthermia.
