A team of astronomers from Astron, the Netherlands Foundation for Research in Astronomy, have set up on a patch of farmland in a crowded corner of mainland England for the first stage of a new software-based radio telescope, the low frequency array (LOFAR). Physicists question model of the Universe

Article Abstract:

Most of the physicists and cosmologists of the world are raising questions and doubts over the model of the Universe, which proves it to be made up of two basic ingredients, namely the dark matter and the dark energy. Various evidences, such as the measurements of the radiation left from the early Universe have raised such doubts and hence are being replaced by other theoretical alternatives by the physicists and scientists.

Maths 'Nobel' rumored for Russian recluse

Article Abstract:

Russian mathematician Grigory 'Grisha' Perelman may be awarded a Fields medal at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Madrid on 22 August 2006, for his work on the Poincare conjecture put forth in 1904. Many mathematicians believe that Perelman, who is yet to reply to the Congress' invitation to the congress, will be honored, since three papers suggest that his proof of the conjecture is correct.
