Economists claim carbon cuts won't break the world's bank

Article Abstract:

The economic models released in late April 2006 claim that the costs of stabilizing carbon-dioxide levels could be relatively cheaper, equivalent to setting back the growth of global GDP by less than 1% over 100 years. These models stimulate complex issue in economics as to how climate policies such as research investment or greenhouse-gas regulation can bring about technological development.

Alertness drug arouses fears about 'lifestyle' misuse

A latest study reveals that a drug being studied as a potential treatment for Alzheimer's could also counter the effects of sleep deprivation. The findings has triggered a debate over the use of such 'lifestyle' drugs, which people take to make themselves feel smarter, instead of using a specific medical condition.
