Estimating natural selection acting on stream-dwelling Atlantic salmon: implications for the restoration of extirpated populations

Article Abstract:

Research has been conducted on Atlantic salmon. The authors has estimated the natural selection acting on this salmon, and they report that any of the traits have been the subject to strong directional selection, and that any additional introductions of exogenous fish need to be concentrated on the growth or size of juveniles.

Evidence of natural reproduction of aquaculture-escaped Atlantic salmon in a coastal British Columbia river

Article Abstract:

The first natural spawning of Atlantic salmon is presented. The presence of feral Atlantic salmon could jeopardize the already fragile native Pacific salmonids.
